About Robyn Arnold

A lifelong creator, Robyn Arnold began to align her passions with her day job while in her mid-thirties. Knowing that it is never too late to pursue dreams, Robyn is dedicated to creating works that have a positive impact on families.

Whether Robyn is writing books, poems or articles, working on films, or speaking to groups, she loves helping people succeed. Valuing family, often her inspiration lies close to home. While reading to her youngest son—who was still using his pacifier—Robyn imagined her first children’s book, Branli Says Bye-Bye to Binky. Branli is a lovable bunny who is now the star of his own series: tools for parents and educators to help kids achieve goals during the years from birth to preschool. Branli Goes for a Walk, an adventurous tale of making friends, was released in spring 2008. Robyn appreciates that making time to read to young children can be challenging for working parents, and this motivates her to write thoughtful stories that are fun to read aloud. She does school visits for book readings and walks children through the publishing process.

As an IT Department Manager in software development for a multibillion dollar, Fortune 500 company and previous experience leading hardware and software conversion efforts within banks, Robyn is no stranger to aligning teams to get major projects accomplished. She brings her business savvy and negotiation skills to her creative projects and is currently seeking an agent and partners for film projects. Robyn’s big plans include language translations, a Branli music CD, greeting cards, and other licensed products.

Robyn’s articles on youth related topics have been published on online magazines (e-zines) and she is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI), Missouri Writers Guild (MWG) and St. Louis Writers Guild (SLWG).

Robyn strives to get the most out of life with her husband and children in St. Louis, Missouri. When not writing, Robyn enjoys entertaining friends, acting, dancing, listening to music, going to the spa and working up the nerve to go parachuting.

48 Hour Film Challenge

I entered the 48 Hour Film Challenge this year and had a blast! There were around 54 teams that turned in films on time out of about 72 that entered. Our cast and crew were great and we came up with a film that was a lot of fun to write and shoot. The creative energy eminated from everyone, which allowed us to work very well together. It was enjoyable to watch everyone learn their lines so quickly and improv as needed. Once the film was edited, we went to the "wrap up" party and watched other teams rush to turn in their films by the 7:30:59 deadline. It was very sad to see team members who came after that...all that work and not be allowed to compete. At least they will get to have their film shown at the Tivoli Theatre.
